Disclaimer โ what R.A.K.S.H.A is, and isn't
R.A.K.S.H.A is a support and guidance platform. It is not a law firm, not a licensed legal service, not a government body, and not a law enforcement agency. We are not affiliated with the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or the Ministry of Home Affairs.
What we do: help you understand what's happening, walk you through your reporting options in plain language, and guide you step-by-step so you can file a complaint yourself, safely and correctly.
What we don't do: we don't guarantee that any platform, portal, or authority will act on a report, and we don't guarantee any legal or investigative outcome. If your situation involves an ongoing serious threat, we'd encourage you to also speak with a licensed advocate or, if you're in immediate danger, call 112 before anything else.
Privacy Policy
We'd rather this be accurate than impressive-sounding โ here's exactly what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Complaint details โ what you tell us about your case. You can choose to leave your name and contact details out entirely; the option to stay anonymous is real, not a formality.
- Account details, if you create one โ your name and email, so you can log back in and check your case status.
- City-level location and page visits, logged automatically for every visitor, so we understand how the site is used. We derive a general city from your connection at the moment of the request โ we do not store your IP address itself, only the city it resolves to.
- A random ID stored in your browser, so we can tell a repeat visit from a new one. It isn't linked to your name or identity unless you're logged in at the time.
- Precise location, only if you explicitly tap "Allow" on the location prompt. If you don't tap it, or you tap "No thanks," nothing is collected โ there is no fallback or hidden tracking.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share complaint details with anyone outside the reviewers assigned to your case. We don't require you to identify yourself to submit a harassment complaint through us, the same way the Cyber Crime Portal's own anonymous category doesn't require it.
Who can see it
Complaint details are visible to R.A.K.S.H.A admins and to the specific agent a case is assigned to โ not to every agent, and not publicly.
Where it's stored
We use MongoDB Atlas for our database, Render and Netlify to host the site, and Brevo to send status update emails. Each of these providers processes data on our behalf under their own security practices; we don't control their infrastructure directly, but we don't hand them anything beyond what's needed to provide the service.
How long we keep it
We don't currently have an automatic deletion schedule in place. If you'd like your data removed, contact us and we'll act on that request. (We're working on making this a self-serve option โ if you're reading this as R.A.K.S.H.A's team, this is a good next thing to build.)
Terms of Service
By using this site, you agree to the following.
Using this platform
R.A.K.S.H.A is provided free of charge to help people navigate cyber harassment reporting. Please use it honestly โ don't submit knowingly false reports, and don't use the platform to harass or impersonate someone else.
No guarantee of outcome
We help you prepare and understand a report. We can't control, and don't guarantee, how any platform, portal, or authority responds to it.
Limitation of liability
R.A.K.S.H.A and its team aren't liable for outcomes arising from how a third party (a social media platform, the Cyber Crime Portal, or law enforcement) handles a report you've submitted, nor for decisions you make based on our guidance. Our guides are general information, not tailored legal advice for your specific situation.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform grows. We'll update the date below when we do.
